FEEL IT is a 1 hour curated musical journey inspired by Secret Sunrise, the work of Susan Davids, (global thought leader in Emotional Agility) as well as Dr Joe Dispenza (pioneer in epigenetics & the power of the placebo effect).

How do I regulate my emotions and not live by my reacting within the difficult ones? This is Emotional Agility in action.

How do I turn on and off genes to support healthy hormones which create health cells and a healthy body? This health science is called Epigenetics!

FEEL IT is designed to lightly hold our focus using music and nature to shift us into our parasympathetic state where we experience deep rest, relaxation, cellular repair and optimized digestion.

In this state, our body expresses the “happy hormones” which include oxytocin (the hug hormone), endorphins and many others. The effect of the experience also slows and significantly reduces the expression of stress hormones which contribute to anxiety, disconnection and fear.

Be in movement. Be in stillness. Be in breathe. Be in presence. Be wherever you need to be. Through the beauty of nature and emotive music, FEEL IT is an opportunity to experience a deep pause and space to truly just BE, wherever you are right now, and feel whatever you are being asked to feel.

This format of music journey has been created to physiologically change your hormone expression. Its been created to super charge your health - emotionally, mentally and physically.

FEEL IT by Secret Sunrise FAQ’s

  1. Is FEEL IT the same as a Secret Sunrise dance? Where a typical Secret Sunrise dance is about connection to others, FEEL IT is more about your internal connection. It has more space to connect to yourself and your needs.

  2. Does the music change from month to month, session to session? Yes, a brand new playlist is made monthly to explore different experiences.

  3. Is FEEL IT facilitated? No. Brett sets you up at the start with permission to explore, play, sit, wander in the river or play in the roped tree house. You decide where to go, what to do and what you need to experience in order to connect more meaningfully with yourself - no distractions in facilitation.

  4. Is it a dance, yoga class or meditation? For some people it’s a dance, for others it an emotional exploration and safe place to release whats trapped, while others just sit and stare at the beautiful surroundings while their mind softens into presence, of the music.

  5. What can I expect to feel during and afterwards? Our monthly regulars are likely the best to answer this question: “Really love how I feel after a FEEL IT session... grounded, open, lighter” | “Its like a yoga class for my soul” | “Absolutely loved the setting, as well as the safe space created by you!   6. How often is it and does it move to different venues like Secret Sunrise? It’s monthly and only at Ishta in Hout Bay currently.

  7. What is the intention behind it? FEEL IT is inspired by many people and underpinned by vast amounts of research, within its health focus. The most significant influence is a woman named Dr Susan Davids who is a world thought leader on Emotional Agility. Her work posits that our ability to allow our emotions (all of them - not just the “nice ones”), name them and understand their origin builds our emotional health, which creates our mental health and results ultimately in our physical health or state of dis-ease. If you want to know more, just chat to Brett after a session and he will tell you just how deep the wisdom and evidence goes behind this health focussed experience ;-)

  8. Is it a novelty experience or is there value in doing it regularly? The format is built on decades of research which speak to the value of consistency in creating mindful spaces in ones life, where you are invited into more presence. If music is your vibe and this works, it was built as an exercise class for your mind, soul and body. Like with exercise, it benefits are best experienced in a regular practice.
